Warranty Policy
NERO Wallets — Warranty & Defective Products Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
At NERO Wallets, we aim to provide products that meet reasonable standards of quality, durability and functionality.
This policy explains how we handle defective goods and applicable warranty claims.
1. Statutory Warranty
Products purchased from NERO Wallets are subject to applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
Under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, qualifying products carry an implied six-month warranty of quality.
Where goods fail to meet applicable quality standards within six months after delivery, consumers may exercise their statutory remedies.
For qualifying defects, customers may return the goods without penalty and at the supplier's risk and expense, and select the applicable remedy of repair, replacement or refund.
These rights are separate from our voluntary 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee.
2. Examples of Potential Product Defects
Depending on the circumstances, potential manufacturing defects may include:
-
Faulty card-ejection mechanisms
-
Cardholders that fail to operate as intended
-
Defective fastening mechanisms
-
Stitching failures caused by manufacturing defects
-
Structural failures during ordinary intended use
-
Materials or components that do not meet applicable quality standards
Each claim will be assessed based on the nature and cause of the problem and the customer's statutory rights.
3. Damage and Normal Wear
Our voluntary guarantee does not cover damage caused by:
-
Accidental impact
-
Crushing or bending
-
Improper use
-
Unauthorised modification
-
Exposure to harmful chemicals
-
Excessive heat
-
Negligent handling
-
Deliberate damage
-
Ordinary cosmetic wear unrelated to a product defect
However, the presence of cosmetic wear or evidence of use does not automatically exclude a valid statutory defect claim.
4. Submitting a Warranty Claim
Please email:
Include, where available:
-
Your order number
-
A description of the fault
-
When the fault first appeared
-
Clear photographs or a short video demonstrating the issue
We may request additional information reasonably necessary to assess the claim.
We will provide instructions for inspecting or returning the product where appropriate.
5. Assessment of Claims
We may examine returned products to determine the nature of a reported problem.
Inspection does not remove the customer's statutory right to select the appropriate remedy when the legal requirements for that right have been met.
We will not reject a valid claim solely because the product has been used.
6. Repair, Replacement or Refund
Where a valid claim qualifies under the CPA implied warranty, the customer may elect the applicable statutory remedy.
If a product is repaired under circumstances covered by section 56 and the repair fails, or a further defect is discovered within the relevant statutory period, the customer will be entitled to the applicable replacement or refund remedy.
We will not substitute store credit for a monetary refund where the customer is legally entitled to that refund and does not agree to store credit.
7. Shipping for Warranty Claims
Where a product qualifies for a return under the CPA's implied warranty of quality, the return will be handled at the supplier's risk and expense, without penalty to the customer.
For other voluntary service or goodwill requests, shipping arrangements will be communicated separately.
8. Warranty Exclusions
Where legally permissible, we may decline voluntary warranty assistance for products damaged through misuse, deliberate alteration or causes unrelated to a manufacturing or quality defect.
These limitations will not override any statutory protections.
9. Relationship to Our 30-Day Guarantee
Our 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee is an additional benefit for eligible change-of-mind returns.
It does not shorten, replace or override the statutory implied warranty.
A customer may therefore have valid defect remedies even after the voluntary 30-day return period has ended.
